San Jose del Cabo
25 November 2017
This was our first opportunity to stock up with food and get water since leaving San Diego, almost 800 miles north. The 186 gallon water tank had just run dry a day earlier and we were using up the 20 gallons of water we have in jerry cans in the bilges. Showers (we have two, one in each head) are probably the greatest consumers of water, but it is so nice to rinse off in perhaps a pint of fresh water after swimming. The water from the hose at the marina was 'potable' but not 'drinkable', which didn't make any sense, but in reality it was heavily chlorinated and none of the locals said they would drink it. So we had to order 36 five gallon containers with duly came with patient staff who funneled their contents, via an inverted cut-off one-gallon plastic milk container, into our tanks.
