Not much progress?!

Dana-lama-ding-dong Point!!
It is always an interesting stop in Dana Point! I say this with Love! It is a tad quirky though, but then, so are we.
As we slid into our designated slip, we both had to chuckle, knowing that in about four days, we would have to leave this slip and reposition only three slips down! Interesting accommodations here to say the least. The guest docks were starting to get busy. School was winding down, the Summer time Holiday's were approaching and the Santa Ana's were blowing hard, only to fuel the already raging fires in the hills!
The next few days were a series of emails to our Jeanneau peeps up in the San Juan Islands, looking for parts....again! Mike was somewhat deflated with all the mechanical's that we are having lately. (Hello!! BOAT!!) and while , the emails went out and unanswered, (vacations for a lot of people). The next thing you know it was Doheny Blues Festival! Who's working during that?! Not us! What a hoot! Two days of nothing but Blues, beer & BBQ!!! Even my best friend from way back in 6th grade showed up with her Hubs! The weather was perfect and the beer was colder than an ex-husband!! Killer BBQ trucks everywhere! Perf!!
With the weekend over, comes the dreaded sobriety of a Monday, yay?! ...No! The reality of two weeks slipping by with not even a hope of getting a part was frustrating to say the least. Jeanneau did get back to us though. Turns out the Jeanneau version of our throttle cable is obsolete and no longer available! However, we were thrown a bone and emailed an English interpretation of the owners manual! (Seeing as how this is a French built boat!) That was a bonus! Turns out that we could get a new version of our throttle cable at West Marine! All was not lost! (Ha! "What would Robert Redford do?!" The Movie, right?) West Marine is up the hill and down the street, a decent walk, not too long, except it always leads to a burn'en thirst and the small detour to Taco Surf or Turks Bar & Grill to satiate and can be costly in time?!
On the fun side...I was trying to get back into my surf mode too. My friend came by on a couple of different occasions and gave me a ride to the waves! Man, am I ever outta shape! Kooking out, big time! It's been five years or more since I have been able to surf due to a bad arm injury, I'll get it back, I'm not going to stress it, but What a big bowl of WOW, that I was?!
When all the sudden, Memorial Day was upon us! The guest dock was loaded with Cigarette Boats from Lake Havasu, Arizona. Donzie's, Scarabs, Robalo's ... Probably 15 to 20 boats! Not my kind of boating, but I have to say, they were so very nice! I did not expect their gracious, humble demeanor?! What a great crowd! Super nice and really down to earth peeps! However.... Come 7am the next morning?! No es bueno!!! But that's my problem, not theirs! I'm a sleepy head. They were having so much fun! Great crowd! But huge LOUD! Well, it was short lived. As they all started their engines and filed out into the cut, one by one, our ears were left ringing for about an hour!! Holy dinosaur burners Batman!! We all had to leave. Everyone was getting their walking papers because of the Dana Point Boat Show! There was some grumbling on the docks, but it is, what it is and we all had to go. So.... Out we all went!
And...off! Back to Oceanside! Mike had to rig his "McGiver" throttle rope system up again to get to Oceanside. It was a beautiful day!
