Pull Over for Storms

We pulled the anchor at Rodriguez Key around 7:15 am. We immediately put up the main sail and jib and were doing 6.5 knots SOG without the engine.
Wind behind us mostly. We were doing wing on wing with the pole on the jib and a preventer on the mainsail. SOG around 5 knots. Very pleasant sail. It feels real humid; nasty weather coming this afternoon, according to NOAA. The sky is starting to get a little cloudy.
Around 9:30 am we decided to change our destination and head for Angelfish Creek. It looks like the predicted cold front is approaching faster than we thought. Small Craft Advisory was issued and the forecast isn't real good to continue all the way to No Name Harbor near Miaimi.
So, we took down all sails and the pole and motored. Lots of big clouds are building and it continues to be very humid. All good conditions for a storm.
We entered Angelfish Creek at 10:55 am; mid-tide but falling. It was shallow in the creek; it actually got as low as 5.5 feet. HIGH TIDE ONLY kids! It was a little touch and go at both ends of the creek but we finally made it to Biscayne Bay and Card Sound. The wind and waves were picking up there....20 knots of SW at least.
Dropped the hook on the north side of Pumpkin Key at 12 noon. But it turned out the severe storms and possible twisters stayed north through the night. Did get a couple of T-Storm cells go overhead but not as much as mid-Florida
