29th September
Hi from Lovina.

I have just put some more photos on of our Indonesian travels. We have been enjoying our stay here. Bali and Lombok Islands have shown us another aspect of Indonesia this archipelago of contrasts. The people, cultures and landscapes change with each Island. Here at Lovina we have been able to catch up on some modern living, internet, cafes as well as the downside of persistent shop keepers and hawkers. 70 yachts in the bay , never before seen here so everyone is trying to make lots of money while we are here. We have been buying clothing, souvenirs, transport and tours. So we hope we have all spread our money around in a Town that is still trying to recover from the Bali bombing. Lovina is quieter than down south at Kuta which I think makes it more appealing. The tourists have rediscovered Kuta but Lovina is lagging behind. 2 days in the Kuta area was enough for me, we were pleased to come back to the quiet of the boat and the charm of the people of Lovina. Yesterday we watched water buffalo racing and a few brave yachties were given a chance to participate, returning to their seats covered in mud.
Tomorrow we are off to Kumai on Kalimantan to visit with the orangatan. The trip will take us about 4 days so I will write some more about our travels in Lombok and Bali on the way. Something to do as we sail along . I will try and persuade Alan to write about his visit to a cock fight. Not something he wants to do again but interesting as a one off experience.
Kiaora.
