Long Time No Hear
28 July 2015
Still trying to figure out the technology (Lisa is NOT typing this). But it has also been almost a week since any connection to the cyber world. It has been a great week too. Uproar dipped her keel in Lake Superior and then headed East. We were fortunate to have strong NW to SW winds for the past week. That means a lot of spinnaker sailing and not much diesel.
Sailing into Meldrum bay we hit 10.8 knots in full cruising gear and pulling a waterlogged dinghy. It sure has been great sailing and relaxing. No rain and great sunshine.
Water temp has been swimmable and a bit exhilarating. Sophie is loving life. She is content to sleep in with the humans, no more 5am potty runs like she did at the River Retreat.
Speaking of the RR, I hope it is still there. Kelsey has been having trouble with the lawn tractor and perhaps it is hidden in the weeds by now.
We heard Whisper (Bill and Judy) on the cruiser's net. We were only 3 miles apart. We joined them and are both in Little Current today. There is a pot luck dinner for cruisers in a picnic shelter tonight. We have met some great people out here and will meet more tonight. Sure helps to have guidance about anchorage, harbors and general boat stuff from other cruisers.
I'll figure out pictures soon and may be able to add some from my phone. They have been mostly remote, rocky and pine treey islands with beautiful sunsets.
