Made it!

We had a nice run around Cape Mendocino. Sailed about half the time. We slowed down to time our arrival with tide and sunlight. Going into the "hole in the wall" was a little nerve wracking. We had 12' NWesterlies (waves) and they were crashing on the rock cliffs and outlying haystack rocks all around us. Where there weren't crashing waves there was sea foam and kelp floating in our path. The hole between the jetties looked impossibly small. And the big sea had our bow swinging from side to side. But, we made it through. Once inside the water was glassy smooth and we were surrounded by a charming seaside village with all sorts of picturesque buildings clinging to the cliff side.
Boats of all sizes and description are parked on every available square inch of water. People are very friendly, and the local "Dial a ride" is cheap and efficient.
This morning we had them pick us up at the harbor and deliver us to the "Skunk Train" for a 3.5 hour trip into the redwoods.
We think we will have a weather window on Sunday or Monday, so we'll be continuing south to Bodega Bay. We hear there is a nice marina there where we can catch up on laundry, get fuel, and hopefully have wi-fi so we don't have to trek to the library for an internet connection like we are right now.
After Bodega Bay, we'll anchor in Drakes Bay to time our arrival into San Francisco Bay. I think we'll head first for Sausalito for a few days, then to Alameda.
