East Coast Adventure and Return of the Tweener

Headed South Sunrise, FL

Boca Raton-Sunrise
June 4, 2021

Once again, we were awakened during the early morning hours by a rain shower. We were forced to close down the boat. We open d it again a few hours later o lay to have to close it down again. Finally able to open the boat up about 0430.

We were on no hurry to. Leave the anchorage this morning because we are only going 14 miles today with a Bly 7 bridges to open! Whoop! More boat traffic as we approached Ft Lauderdale…. large boats including commercial vessels as well as the small nuisance watercraft.

Reached Sunrise Bay about 1500 to find 7 large boats already anchored. We nosed our way in and dropped the anchor beside a 63’ motor catamaran. The anchor did not catch so we pulled it in and motored over to a smaller sailboat, dropped e anchor and it caught immediately. I suppose we needed to get in the low rent district!

Went for a swim and watched the occupants of a large boat spend the afternoon swimming and partying. Oh to be young again! These days we are in bed before dark……

We are officially in Ft Lauderdale. First time here on this boat.
