We left Dana Point around 6 am and we arrived at Avalon on Catalina Island at 2 pm. It was a great sail with a whale siting about half way across we believe it was a Blue at it had a dorsel fin which you don't see with the California Grey whale. We will stay in Catalina for a couple of days and enjoy some friends, snorkeling and some good food. What a beautiful island when you have may sail to it yourself and not use a ferry. We have gotten an outside bouy outside of Avalon and have a great spot in front of the cliffs.
