Let’s Boogie

Tom
One of the nice things about being stationary for a bit and having family aboard is we are able to plan long days at the beach. With Cedar and Trevor we had a couple such days. Snorkeling and boogie boarding along with sand castle construction and the general laziness that the beach brings made for a wonderful couple days. We sadly said good bye to them after a visit that went by much to fast. Can’t wait to visit you two in July.
It was wonderful having you on board!!
Ray and Lianne arrived, got settled in to there place outside of Georgetown and began acclimatizing themselves to beach life. We rented a car and went on tour with them. We explored Little Exuma and Tropic of Cancer beach, had lunch in Williamstown at Santana’s Bar and Grill. This little spot was the staging ground for 2 of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. They have photo albums at the bar showing the cast and crew hanging out with the locals and owners. Very cool place!! We then managed a visit with them out to Sheila and Stocking Cay just ahead of an oncoming cold front that has brought us big wind for a couple days.
So that brings me to the negative part of life on a boat. I’m sitting here writing this at 2:00 am because I can’t sleep. The wind is blowing about 25 knots outside with gusts up to 35. The boats are rocking and rolling at anchor, creaking with the gusts while the waves slap the boat at odd angles because the current is holding Sheila awkwardly against the wind. Tracy seems to be managing to get a little sleep and Eva’s been sound asleep for many hours. Back home I would be suffering the frustration and anxiety that insomnia brings but I remind myself I don’t have to go to work tomorrow only to the beach☺
