Just another day in ...
20 September 2017 | Baltimore Northwest Harbor
Sunny and warm. Light northerly winds
It is sunny and warm with a light northerly breeze. I ate lunch sitting in the cockpit looking out over the harbor. For the first time in awhile it felt sorta tropical. I could do this in Waukegan, but I am in Baltimore, so it feels special. There were no bugs at lunch, but there are flies on the Chesapeake. Annoying, but not as bad as it can get on Lake Michigan.
This morning we paid a visit to the laundromat. After lunch we stopped at West Marine, Ace Hardware, and the grocery store, all in easy walking distance - too easy. I had nothing I needed at West Marine, but that doesn't seem to be a deterrent. Sigh. Next time I'll be strong. At Ace, I bought their spider spray. Hey, everyone needs a hobby! I had the mast down for three weeks. You'd think I would have gotten rid of every spider by now. But here and there I'll turn over some line or halyard I haven't touched in awhile, and out will pop a big one.
Roger and Tari's boating friends arrive early tomorrow morning. They will sail down with us to Annapolis on Friday. I will fly home for the weekend from there and should get back to Annapolis on Monday before Hurricane Maria can cause problems. Our friends on Gabriel are still stuck on the Hudson due to the two hurricanes effect on the Atlantic along the New Jersey coast.
I think the blog photo shows two naval ships.
