I’d like mine not on the rocks, please ...
27 January 2018 | Resorts World Bimini
Sunny, windy, 70
We took a walk this morning with the dogs - a long walk. It was so long that we left the poorer part of the island and ended up in the Hilton - Resorts World part of the island. This part caters to folks from south Florida and is very nice and a first class resort. The contrast to what we had been experiencing so far was stark. I bet the folks who come here never leave the compound. For transportation to and from the resort, there is a small plane that lands and takes off from the water.
On the way, we stopped to examine another boat left on shore after a hurricane. It seemed to be in good shape. There was no anchor ashore, but the line coming from the boat that would have been attached to the anchor was badly frayed, so maybe the line broke or chafed through, leaving the boat to come ashore.
I ran the watermaker yesterday and today. I also tried washing clothes in a bucket. We’ll see how that worked when they are fully dry.
Still waiting for the wind to let up. The temperature is in the low 70’s. For folks here, with the wind, that is cold, so you see folks and kids in light weight sweatshirts, while we are walking around in shorts and tee shirts. Yesterday, some of us had on a light jacket or long sleeve shirt.
