Happy Mother’s Day.
The dinghy stayed squeaky clean in the Bahamas, but no more. Unbelievable. Little, itty bitty crustaceans were living in this. And small mussels. It was fun cleaning this. I hope to never have to do this again.
Several days ago I verified that my turnbuckles were not seized. I sprayed WD40 on the bolts securing the solar panels. I made sure everything I would need to loosen was ready to go. Today I took apart the dodger. The second zipper I tried would not budge. I never thought to check the zippers on the dodger. What a struggle. Then at the top, it wouldn't go the last tiny bit so I could detach it. The one thing you don't check - that's the one. I got the dodger apart and didn't break the zipper.
The solar panels are a pain. I got one off, but would rather have help. They are overhead, weigh 25 pounds, are five feet long and don't just slide right out. I guess I'm just tired and don't have much fight left. Tomorrow I leave to go to the marina where I will finish getting the boat ready for the truck. Tomorrow is also when the rain starts. I'm hoping it stays more south of here. I need to get back in the quarter berth to work on removing the arch, but it is full of stuff from the cruise. No problem - I'll just move that to the main cabin ... which is now full of sails and stuff for the truck transport. Hmmm. So now what? Fun times - fun times.
