UMNYAMA on the hard in Grenada

So now Umnyama is on the hard in Grenada during the hurricane season. All sails and all loose items are removed, the boat is strapped to the ground, together with 200 (?) other yachts @ Grenada Marine (www.grenadamarine.com) Almost all yachties went home. Living aboard is prohibited, because of the Covid rules. Even if it was, it is untenable. Temps over 40. Fridge manages 20, without the watercooling. Freezer can't freeze.
But I have to work on the boat anyway. She is for sale. So I have to get her in pristine condition. The usual stuff of course, but also specific issues:
- Replace the watermaker ‘3-way production valve power supply control’.
- Replace the severely rusted Rocna Anchor (Warranty).
- Regalvanize or renew the anchor chain?
- Repair the broken portside daggerboard after the whale collision.
- Repair the again leaking dinghy, again, after the costly Aus repair.
- Repair the ever malfunctioning three way top light.
- Renew the deck light.
- Renew a life line.
- Repair the Parasailor @€2k...
- Repair the top main sail batten.
- Renew the headsail furler drum.
- Repair, where needed, all sails.
- Repair or renew a Raymarine i70 Instrument Display.
The boat is for sale. Many interested sailors. But Covid and the expensive Euro are prohibitive these days. We are not in a hurry. We sail on, another season in the Caribbean and then we may sell her. Those who want a fast cruising cat, want a Catana 42...
