Schedule

11 December 2007 | Ft. Walton Beach, FL
Bill
As you can see by the location of this entry, we are still in FWB, FL. A few extra jobs came up and we fell back on the single most important "rule" we learned from many cruising sources.... "Schedule" is a dirty word. Since we agreed to not have a hard schedule, it is easier to modify our departure without major concerns. Our plan to depart on Dec.1 moved to Dec. 15 and now, because of weather, will be Monday the 17th. (weather permitting). Both Sue and I will miss family but we are anxious to feel the boat moving under us as we start toward the Bahamas. Merry Christmas to all.
Vessel Name: Unchained
Vessel Make/Model: 38' Beneteau
Hailing Port: Knoxville, TN
Crew: Bill & Sue Shafer
About:
We have been sailing about ten years (lots of schools and bare boat charters in those years). Sue grew up in Midland, TX and Bill in Knoxville, TN where we have a home. We are members of Concord Yacht Club in Knoxville (Great people & very supportive). [...]
Extra: Unchained is a 1991 Beneteau Moorings 38 which was designed as a charter boat. We had to make many modifications to make her a reasonable long distance cruiser. She is light and small but very capable.
