With the plan of going to Norway, we had bought 100m of anchor chain to replace our 60m, in preparation for anchoring in the deep fiords. We painted links at 10m intervals, to make it easy to measure the chain going out. A slow job, and when we went to move the chain we realised the paint chipped quite easily, so ended up putting on cable ties to mark the 10m intervals....which would have saved a lot of time if we'd done that in the first place!
