The next big job was installing 4 new batteries, these are somewhat bigger than your average car battery and weigh 70kg each, so getting them onto the boat and then down into a hole under the table was the major challenge. Jay rigged up a hoist off the boom and then another over the table using a fence post and after 8hours we had the batteries in place. Just the job of connecting it all up and lifting the old batteries off the boat. A bit scary when it came to the big switch on, but it all worked and we'll have more power stored for when at anchor.
