Early Start

Well for us, 06.30, to make sure we got the tides right. Well worth the early start as it was a beautiful morning. Unfortunately the wind was from the NW which was exactly where we needed to go, so we motored across the Sound of Jura. We needed to go with the tide up the Sound of Islay - the narrow channel between Jura and Islay. Both islands look very barren, especially Jura which seems devoid of trees, people and even sheep, only deer and some hardy cattle were spotted. The three Paps of Jura are very prominent feature of Jura and make it identifiable from many miles away.
