19 Aug. With a storm on the way we headed back to Lochbiosdale harbour, the most secure harbour on the Outer Hebrides (south of Stornoway). A small but busy harbour and the base for many of the fish farm operations in the area. We stayed here for 3 nights, even in the harbour we saw 50kts on the wind gauge. But we managed a couple of bike rides and shared seafaring tales with other sailors in the evenings, who all seemed somewhat more adventurous than us, including the Swiss couple who spent the winter on their boat in Tromso and the solo sailor who casually sails from the Canaries to Scotland each year.
