‘Don’t rock the boat’: ‘Victoria Pendleton, Denise Lewis and other “celebs” (we haven’t heard of) in Lochinver after rowing from Lands End for a TV series. Look out for Vela Vee in the background when its on ITV in november.

Guillemot rescue: This little fella was floating around the boat in Ardfern, so the Scottish animal rescue charity took him away for a bit of TLC, hopefully it will be ok

Even warm enough for J to swim: Off the boat at Gigha

Girl power: Clean up on one of the raised beaches at Jura. 90% of the stuff picked up was fishing industry related - nets, line, rope, boxes etc

Separate ways: Liz, Billy and J obviously not in the mood for chatting on this beach walk.

Mutiny: Taking Billy, Sally and Liz to the north beach on Gigha, so they could walk to Ardminish Bay, whilst we sailed Vela around

Basking shark: Seen between Rum and Canna, watched 4 of them for 20mins whilst the swam up and down, feeding with their huge mouths open.

Wind, sun and shorts: Fantastic sailing, 20kts and warm too!

Going under: Jay about to dive down to the propeller to fit a new anode, which had eroded away.

Job done: Beach clean at Loch Drumbuie, lots of plastic and rope from fishing boats collected.

Supper on deck: Warm enough to sit out....with a few jumpers

Bin boat: Bringing the picked rubbish back to the boat

New batteries: Installing the 4 new batteries into the bottom of the boat

Top of the mast: This is the way to get to the top of the mast (23m up), get hoisted up by a crane. He was up there for over an hour trying to sort out the genoa halyard.

Is this really Scotland: Warm enough to breakfast on deck....wearing shorts!

Weight training: Moving 100m of anchor chain with a push-me-pull you technique

Sheets and halyards: All the ropes we took off and cleaned in the autumn, now need to go back on...just hope we labelled them well

Anchor chain painting: Putting marks every 10m so we know how much chain we have put out

Cleaning: Nice job of cleaning out the bilges and other spaces below the floors, excellent use of a turkey baster to get water out of hard to reach places

Fairy Isles: Small anchorage, all to ourselves except for the Ospreys near by.

Osprey: One of the adults keeping a lookout near the nest on Loch Craignish

Two young osprey: The parents mate for life and come back to the same nest each year (the fly south for the winter) adding sticks and moss to the old nest each year.

The Paps of Jura: Taken from Sound of Islay. A very barren island home to lots of deer and wild goats.

Jay has a friend: This local farm dog (Benji) joined us on our walk for a couple of hours, but abandoned us for some other walkers when we stopped throwing sticks.
