Kiparissa was a nice distance for the day's sail from Pylos. The breakwater that was damaged in storms is still under repair but they have extended the NE harbour wall, so quite a few yachts can be accommodated here. When we arrived most of the yachts were alongside rather than the typical anchor out and back in to the wall to attach the stern lines. You can also anchor here in the middle of the harbour which is what we did. At that point there was only one other boat anchored and it looked closed up too. We never saw anyone on board. We put out 20 metres of chain and settled in nicely.

Later two more yachts anchored so there was room for the four of us and probably one more. Others coming in went stern to the wall.

We sat up in the cockpit for drinks and supper being amused by the turtles swimming around us. One head butted Dennis to see if he was friendly. Unfortunately they were very difficult to photograph.
