Njord going backwards into the travel lift bay
12 August 2021 | MMH’s yard in Grand Harbour, Valletta
We had been advised by MMH to go into the travel lift bay backwards so we were ready to be lifted the next morning. However as we were late arriving (see the previous post) and they had finished for the evening we actually went into the wrong bay. Njord had reversed in beautifully and now at 07.00 we had to come out and go into the bay next door and again backwards. It was a bit daunting and stressful as our lift out was scheduled for 10.00 and we were not completely ready.
Njord is obviously happy to be cleaned, she had missed out on her last annual maintenance programme due to us being in the UK during the first Covid lockdown. As a result she went like a dream backwards again (normally she does not like going backwards in a straight line) and can be seen here doing exactly that. However she did blush when she was lifted out of the water as her bottom was the worse for growth we have ever seen it. The sea water is hotter than usual currently and this encourages growth unfortunately. Never mind she will look spick 'n' span in no time.
