Lanzarote anchorages

NNE 15kt, visibility good, sea temp 24C, 1019mb
With a nice little NNE wind, forecast to decrease overnight and in bright sunshine, we sailed north to Isla Alegranza. A local charter skipper had recommended the anchorage off a sandy beach; the sandy beach looked promising so we anchored hoping to stay for a couple of days - not to be - a snorkle over the anchorage revealed 100% rock; we were lucky to recover the Delta anchor without snagging.
The islands to the north of Lanzarote are ruggedly beautiful and undeveloped, not to be missed. However there are a lot of rocks to snag the anchor/chain; highly recommend buoying anchors. Here is our experience:
Bahia Francea 29 13.10'N, 013 31.74'W - 100% rock in eastern half, good holding in sand on west side but with isolated rocks to snag. (5-9m)
Bahia Salado 29 13.50'N, 013 30.71'W - behind the reef - good holding in sand, isolated stony patches. (4m)
Isla Alegranza 29 23.02'N, 013 30.56'W - 100% rock, with plenty of opportunity to wrap the chain around the rocks! (5m)
