So close and yet so far
We are in the final days of the Azores adventure. thanks to everyone still reading this - although pretty sure that by now thats only my mum.

We have had a couple of great days run and have made up some of the lost time. There had been talk of a Monday or even Tuesday arrival in Falmouth - but thanks to a low pressure in Sole sea area we have had great favourable winds and sunny weather. moving again
For those few still bothered to keep up with this frankly rather boring drivel about frustrations and depravation which were after all - entirely self inflicted - thanks a million! I have no idea who reads this but looking forward to reading comments when back in land of the connected.
Return Leg Start Azores to Falmouth
After a good start near the head of our class - we managed not only to stay in touch with the fleet but overtake a few of them. An immensely satisfying experience.
The weather gods have also looked kindly on us mortals with a gentle warm breeze on the quarter allowing spinnaker (downwind only) sails to be set successfully for the first time since we left Lough Swilly.
Just after passing the west end of the Island we had a group of dolphins showing off all around the boat for about 30 mins. They seem totally undeterred by the many hundreds of Portugese Man o War jelly fish we have passed. These pretty and exotic looking animals have a very delicate and pastel blue and pink coloured air sac that sits above the sea and catches the wind. They are also quite leathal stingers with 20m long tenticles.
Will be tacking for the direct route for Falmouth shortly after we can round the Island headland, lets hope we are still in touch the the fleet come morning.
