Lousy weather

03 March 2013
We've had three days of cloudy, very windy weather here at Treasure Cay. And wifi sucks in the harbor But that hasn't slowed down our social life any. Thursday night we had pizza night at the marina here that owns the harbor. It was packed, but according to people here it was a slow night.

Friday night we were invited to join some friends at a steak night on Treasure Cay beach. It was quite elegant. The building was all glass with opening doors (although it was so cold we had to bundle up in our winter clothes). White table clothes, blue napkins, stemware. And the steaks were unbelievable. Almost everyone got the tenderloin and were served first. They were huge! Then they came out with my strip steak. I have never seen such a huge strip steak in my life. It was delicious! And we got a huge doggy bag!

I should back up a little. We met Gert and Bill at Pete's Pub in Little Harbor. They have a nice little villa in Treasure Cay. They invited us to call them when we got here. So we did! They met us at the pizza night and then we went to the steak night with them.

Last night we had them to the boat and made chicken cacciatore because it was so cold. They are real fun people and spend six months a year down here working from their home.

We are doing laundry and catching up on computer work.

We've had some interesting nighttime events. After the steak night we went to get on our dinghy but it was jammed under the dock. So we had to wait for the tide to go down. So that was a long night. We got back to the boat around 12:30 AM.

Then last night a big gust came through at midnight while we were dozing. Someone knocked on our hull. I never saw Bob jump up so fast. We had dragged across the whole harbor. It was a miracle we didn't hit anyone. So we re-positioned ourselves and kept awake for a couple of house, but didn't move so we finally went back to sleep.

I've been having trouble adding pictures, but I'll see what I can do while here at Gerts and Bills.
