Biting flies
Yesterday can be defined by one word: biting flies . Ok 2 words.
All afternoon or was hotter than hades and still as can be. Perfect conditions for those damn flies. We covered ourselves in sheets to ward them off. We were soooo hot and sticky and itchy ankles, backs of knees and everywhere else as the flies would bite through our clothes.

The up side is we had a deliciously refreshing swim at Put-in-Bay at the west end of Lake Erie. Soaked our achy itchy ankles in cold water. Washed all our dirty clothes (including the sheets in which we wrapped ourselves) which dried instantly. Made a cold salad for dinner. Then went do a steaming hot cabin for bed. We were sweating again by then. Both of us managed to crash and fall asleep til 9 this morning so we didn't get an early start.

Today it is hot again but Yeah! There is wind so we actually have the jib up and are motors sailing along. Will be at the Detroit River this afternoon.
