Jervis Bay
17 January 2014
We got away from Ulladulla at about 0545 this morning and motor sailed the 25 miles to Jervis Bay in about 20 knots from the north east. I'm quite convinced the entrance to JB has a weather pattern all of its own. Every time we have been here we get wind gusts up to 35 kts at the entrance, even if it's only 20 outside. We are now anchored off Montague Roads on the northern shore of the bay out of the strong wind. The beach is about a mile long and is perfectly squeaky sand and crystal clear water. There's a predicted southerly change coming through tomorrow evening so we will catch that up to Port Hacking to see some friends before moving on to Sydney on Monday.
If anyone is interested we are using www.skipr.net to track our position. Just look for Volaré in the list of boats currently cruising.
