Across the infamous Southport Bar OK

Yeh! We're in QLD. I was very excited to get in. Greg was just relieved to get over the Bar. We'd checked in with Marine Rescue enroute they said they classified the bar as moderate. Checked in about 1/2 hour before arrival & they said conditions had picked up a bit. Very sloppy confused seas last couple of hours from The Tweed (only bumped once coming out,😩very hard to find deep water in the river, even though we'd marked the chart the two places we went around coming in, and skirted around those, I was up the bow but really couldn't see the change of colour in the water, as it was cloudy. Bar very good though, constant dredging there has made a big improvement)

So we're anchored in Bums Bay, just across from Seaworld, very handy good holding, lots of live aboards. Our friend Kim on 'Artful Dodger', (permanents here) kindly picked us and drove us for coffee with his regular morning Coffee Yachtie friends at Marina Mirage, then to ALDI, for the stock up. Yachties are so hospitable, especially when they have cars and you don't. Not a big stock up as we have 4 nights out to dinner already this week. Quite a few good friends here that live ashore.

At the moment, we're in a lovely, real bed at my good friend Pauline's house, and she cooked us a fabulous roast lamb dinner last night, and scrambled eggs for breakfast....... Cruisings great, especially with friends along the way.😃🐬
