FORT LAUDADALE

Dawn
We had a very pleasant sail from Key West to Fort Laudadale, the seas were fairly calm & the engines did not play up too badly. Very fortunately for us friends of ours Lynn & Mike were already berthed in Fort Laudadale up the river on the intercoastal waters, we gave them a call & they were able to advise us on how to get onto the dock in The New River Municipal Marina which had reasonable charges plus all the facilities. They were waiting on the dock for us with some other South African friends of theirs Greg & Carol, Mike & Lynn had already tied up some fenders for us. This all helped immensely as the river is very busy & there is quite a current everyone was so helpful & after we tied up we all sat on the quay to enjoy much needed beers.
