The wind is exactly on our back so we took down the main which needed work anyway and set the reacher on a pole opposite the jib. So it's like we have two jibs, on opposite sides and both poled out. We didn't loose much speed by doing this but the wind has been a little lower in the last few hours. We had to work on the main because the reef line had broken during the night and I had just set a temporary repair during my watch using another reef. This morning I let Nathaniel reeve the new reef line on his own: figure out how to do it and actually do it; neither of these being simple because the reef line is buried in the boom and goes through partially hidden sheaves. He is doing just fine and is just about finished now. Yesterday we watched a thin red line (war movie guadelcanal) with nick nolte, sean pen, and other. Not good.
