Winds are howling tonight and waves are pretty big so we dropped the main and set the staysail instead of the jib. Inside is cosy with the saloon lights on; sometimes a bigger wave just passes by and sends the boat on its ear and things flying but mostly the motion is ok after slowing down. I 5200ed most of the hatches and there doesn't seem to be any leaks except in the head where the hatch leaks a bit when soaked. Janneke is sleeping and I think I'm going to turn in soon as well.
It is 11:49pm local (2:49am friday for you)and we're supposed to have 25kts with a barometer at 1010, according to the most recent grib. But we're have 34 kts well established. How ever if I go to the location of the 1008 hPa (which is our actual pressure) I find predicted wind of 31 kts which means that the grib has the weather system right but is off about its location.
