Alan Cresswell
So we had a decent evening and night and a very good morning and with the wind behaving exactly as the grib were forecasting . So I grew confident that we would transit smoothly into the fore-casted southwesterly flow..... oh but no, the wind just completely died an hour ago. And since there are waves from everywhere, the sails flap really badly shaking the boat every few seconds. So I guess I'll start the engine, not to go anywhere but just to ease the shocks on the rigging and the sails. It is quite maddening!
But of course I'm not mad at the wind or the ocean or Nature; they all have our best interest at heart, I know.....
The drogue is finished and ready to be deployed (so of course no storm). We just watched Rio Bravo (Marine didn't know John Wayne or Dean Martin.....) before the wind died. It was great to see it.
Did I tell you that I finished the Vargas "A climate of Fear"? (even better than the ones we read)
Hope you got back ok and are playing at Emily's. Say hi to them
