me

Well, I've saved up a couple days of activities to keep it fresh and somewhat interesting for you all. Dad & I have just been kinda hangin out here at the resort. I've been doing emails and whatnot in the morning and meeting up with him early afternoon. The other day I got the electronics guy down here to look at my ever frustrating issues with all the high tech equipment that's not talking nicely to each other or with me! He uploaded some new firmware then re-booted everything now magically we had no wind information or depth sounder functions. The frustration really builds when a new guy comes on board and has to get aquainted with my systems and questions how things were installed. He plugged and unplugged stuff, tweaked this adjusted that 1.5 hrs later he calls Furuno (good idea) and goes through the sentences and settings on the big display .seems that the wind sentence was wrong and after my urging several times to check it .he plugged back in the sounder .Ureka we have electronics working again!! He left, I re-booted everything I'll be damned if it DIDN'T WORK!!!! Well, after my neighbors heard a few not so positive "strong" words coming from my cockpit I chilled out, shut it all down and left for a bus to the zip line trip that Dad & I set up. (I'll just give you a hint it works again, the boat is possesed). El Eden is where "Predator" was filmed. There's a really cool restaurant over the river and natural waterslide. It's a bumpy, dusty dirty hilarious ride up there in a converted bus with no windows. Heavy Jungle and now since I've been here last ZIP LINES!!! Best game in town, longest rides and fastest. They gave us the safety lowdown, hooked us up with helmets and harnasses and off we went. You do a couple short little runs for practice, then start hiking up these steep steps and paths to each landing .I got the look from Dad and he was panting needing a quick break .Yeah, I didn't feel it at all pant pant pant . I took one for the team and went first .I'm a show off. The guys are all, "YEAAAH PELON, good job, yeehaw!" I think the only ones screaming louder than me were the little girls, go figure. Got to hand it to Pops, at 71 he hung with all us, it was hot and steap but they had water at every landing and were in no hurry to push those who needed to rest. We had a BLAST!!! Stopped for a quick snack (and cerveza) at the place over the water and watched the kids swinging on the rope and into the pool .this kid wished he had remembered his bathing suit!! On the way down the mountain we stopped at a tequilla factory for a tasting that's the picture. Sorry folks, have some generic pics of the zip line which I'll load on the gallery, but no cameras allowed on the zip line so I bought a still from them and the video. We got back all sweaty and grimy just in time for no showers and dinner at the yacht club. X-mas eve, turkey or pork it was all good. Ginger hung with us at our table as she's an orphan just like us for xmas. Her boss is looking into a sail for me as he owns the North Sails loft in La Cruz. Night ended for me about 1030pm after a long awaited shower. Laying prone on my bunk trumped any late night activities, I was wasted from a really fun, long day .I think I heard my Dad snoring in the hotel from here! We are looking to hit the high seas first part of next week. Much to do before then. Hope you are all well and enjoying a blessed holiday season. I'll be right here updating you with my travels as the days continue to click on as well as the miles under my keel. Merry Christmas!
