11 January 2011 | melaque
The journey continues....game is the same, players have changed.....instead of a hottie with a great body....and really kewl clothes....and curls....it's two dudes,,,cruising bachelor style.

We are in Melaque now, took Pops to town to recharge his vodka supply and my "sol" beer....and show him the town. Different dynamic but streets still the same. The shops me and Sunny would look in, we just cruised right on by. You know dudes shopping....if it's not home depot or best buy....where's the market?!?? Truth be told, I love to look at all the little shops, especially when my girl is next to me.

Took Poppie to our favorite market with all the good produce and booze....sunny, you remember it right? I scored on some really fresh tortillas just delivered. Tonight's dinner composed of them....more later.

We landed the dink at me and sunny's favorite spot in front of the defunct palapa and locked it up...dad was impressed with the landing technique using the wheels etc....when we launched it though, he got a little ahead of me and my instructions on when to jump in, had he listened to me, his shorts would still be dry...or did he just not hear me? Could be-

Once back on da bote...I made up a quick batch of guacamole using fresh onions, garlic, tomato, lime, spices and a few secret ingredients not mentioned here....it was a hit, leftovers in fridge if anyone wants to come down!!!

I thawed out one package of the tuna, seasoned it, made a foil boat and bbq'd it with butter and garlic.....then shredded it to put on a HOT tortilla simmering in butter. Add to that some compote of onion, garlic and fresh tomato with same spices, fold into the tortilla, close it, turn it, simmer for a sec...BAM! There you have it...fish tacos!

A couple of spirits later, pops is sleeping away aft in the most comfortable bed EVER and I'm glad to give it up for him...life is good.

On the way here today, we hooked a long line when I was off watch....Dad didn't see it and I was on the bow.....fortunately just our two rods hooked it, and after pulling the boat backwards with the reels, we got both $27.00 lures back and didn't get shot at from the panga! Wades Aweigh 1, local panga fishermen 0!!!

Picture today is of me over the plate of fresh tuna for the taco's....hard to tell anything past my BROWN skin....sorry folks....common man...it's sunny here!!!!!

Hope all is well in snowy Washington....
