Looks like we were followed!

03 May 2013 | Kemah, TX.
Gene
We are currently sitting outside the sailing school waiting to begin our education. We packed our cloths, and made ready to move from the comfort of the super 8 to stay the rest of our trip aboard a 35ft s/v Mary O. The only hiccup in our plan is the weather. Back home in Iowa, our little town has received three inches of snow, in may! Down here in Texas, the temp has dropped as well. We are currently at 50 degrees with a projected high of 66 degrees. I think the weather followed us.

Several hours later:
In true sailing fashion, nothing worked the way we planned! The wind blowing from the north has prevented the high tide from coming into clear lake, making it impossible for our boat to float. Our vessel is resting on its keel and will not be moving today. Instead we have completed all required class time, learned to tie our required knots (Amy had a little trouble with square knots, but is an expert at the bowline), and we have passed our test all before lunch. We are hoping to sail all day tomorrow.
