Waiting for August

28 June 2013 | Iowa
Gene
BORED!!!! While we have not been able to spend much time on sail boats, we have been planning and scheming. We will soon be leaving in August for San Diego and our next sailing class (ASA 103: Basic costal cruising), and to see my Mother and Father. My Mother and Father have recently moved to the sunny Southern California coast from there home in central Iowa, and we are jealous. It will be a welcome chance to be able to hang with one of my heroes again.

In the mean time, Amy and I have tried our best to continue our understanding of sailing. I have spent much of my free time sailing small hobbie cats when possible; slowly increasing my experience with faster and faster wind speeds. I am not convinced that the small catamaran experience will replace time with larger mono-hull sailboats, but the experience with catching the wind and maneuvering with a tiller should allow for an increased since of comfort.
