Amy and I made a decision to forgo continued sailing classes, and instead use the money to buy our first sailing vessel. We have bought and paid for her, and to say we are worried and a little scared would be an understatement. She is a 21' clipper marine that was built in 1972, her name is "Barely Awake". She is a no frills kind of boat that will need little work to get ready to sail, I hope.

I will be bringing her home today and hopefully be on the water soon with Amy, a couple of our kids, and good wind.

This section I will be adding to monitor the cost of new boat ownership:
Cost of the boat 1000.00
