And so to bed

The last week has passed in something of a blur as we have put the boat to bed and sought to balance this with some more fun things to do in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

Journey's end

When we last completed a blog, we were looking for some wind to get some respite from the mirror flat seas we were experiencing. We found it!

Day 4 ....

02 January 2019 | En route towards Cape Verde

.......just before pressing send, the boat moved sideways rather suddenly, launching the laptop across the saloon, sending my first draft into a 'crash' folder, so here goes again.

We have had beautiful seas and very favorable winds and are trundling alone very nicely. At around 6am this morning Water Music was singing along at over 9 kts at one stage. The only problem this easy sailing causes is in the imbalance between the generous and delicious calorie intake and the modest calorie burn.

The horizon has been largely empty so it was a real treat to see a turtle swim past at less that 20 yards. There was a nervous few seconds as it moved close to the fishing lures that the sailfish and tuna are currently ignoring. Thankfully, it showed similar distain and swan on its merry way.

Night skies are always a treat but especially so far away from land and at the moonless time of night with shooting stars, the international space station and wonderful constellations.

Off now for 11's and some sunshine.

Happy New Year & love to all
