Wye River
12 June 2015
We headed to the Wye River on Thursday. As we headed to our usual anchorage in Shaw Bay, our friend on board John, suggested we try a little different spot. So we headed a little further over and across the river and found a nice little cove to anchor in. There was another boat anchored, and I think he felt we got a little too close, because he decided to pick up anchor and move several yards away. We enjoyed the anchorage and saw (and heard) several osprey flying overhead searching for their fish
dinner. We were lucky to enjoy a beautiful sunset before the overnight storm came in.
In the morning we were heading to St. Michaels. The marina could not take us until about noon. So we decided to kill some time and venture up the Wye. it really is a nice river with beautiful homes.
At a certain point we saw a police boat approach a small row boat with an outboard who was checking on his crab pots. Guess that is not allowed in the Wye, as we then saw the crabber pulling up all his pots. Nice to know some rivers don't allow pots. Makes for smooth, obstacle-free sailing!

Wing on Wing
12 June 2015 | Little Choptank/Hudson Creek
On Tuesday, we headed back north, with southerly winds. So we enjoyed a nice smooth sail wing on wing, as we headed to the Little Choptank. As we got closer, winds picked up to 20-25 and stayed that way through the evening even when we were at anchor. Good thing Hudson Creek has a strong hold. We were able to sail all the way down the Little Choptank and into Hudson Creek. Save that fuel!

Solomon's 2105
12 June 2015 | Solomon's Island
We left Saturday and made it to Solomon's on Monday of our week long trip. We started out from the Patapsco on Saturday morning and sailed to the Rhode River and anchored overnight. Nice light wind, allowed us to sail all the way up the Rhode to our anchorage spot. Sunday morning we left for Tilghman Island. First time going to Harrison's Marina, the water was pretty shallow, but we were able to get in with inches to spare. We were the only sailboat there, seemed to be a real local place and mostly charter fishing boats. Then we made it to Solomon's Island Monday. Stayed at Zahnisers and enjoyed a nice dinner at Dry Dock there at the marina.

Entering Delaware Bay from C&D 2013
09 May 2014 | Delaware Bay
sunny
We made it through the canal. Now on to Reedy Island for an overnight anchorage, adult beverage and a good night's sleep. We have an early start in the morning to make it to Cape May in daylight. Anchoring at Reedy there is a strong current. Did I say strong current? Best advised to use a kellet anchor too.
