Our game plan to ride a favorable current as long as possible and to minimize the amount of time we were bashing into strong headwinds yesterday worked. We were only an hour out of Port Jefferson when our speed over ground (SOG) got knocked down to 5 knots and we were anchored before the waves built up.
We will have a quiet day at anchor today and do a few boat chores as we wait for a front to pass by tonight. Tomorrow should be a good day to continue west in Long Island Sound.
