On Wednesday we moved 5 miles up the Sassafras River to Georgetown and anchored there for two nights. We went ashore and had lunch; bought some Deep Woods Off and some number 45 suntan lotion. The biting flies have been bugging us and Patti's nose has been getting red. We have spent our summers in the north for the last three years and have not had to deal with biting flies and sun intense enough to be a problem.
We also aren't used to the hot weather we've been experiencing. Afternoon swims have been very refreshing and we are using the electric fans on the boat for the first time in years. Kalko the sailing cat has gotten used to the hot weather now but for the first few days she didn't go up on deck and spent the whole day laying on the floor grate in the head. She didn't even move if someone went in the head to use it.
Today we are headed south on the bay to Rock Hall where we will dock!!!!! the boat for two nights. We need groceries and to do laundry and need to be in a marina to get those chores done.
