A blast from the past

A trip to South Puget Sound would not be complete without a visit to Ketron Island. Ketron is a small island jewel just a mile and a half off the coast of Steilacoom. We lived on this island paradise in the 1980's. Our son's were 7 and 8 when we moved there. There were 14 people on the island, of which we were four. All the other residents were retired consequently the boys had a wealth of "grandparents". They pretty much had the run of the island. Touring around it brought back many fond memories of the people who lived there, our home, and life in general on this special island. But there is no public access on Ketron so after the circumnavigation we continued on to Penrose State Park where we met up with our friends aboard Morningstar. We spent a couple of days at Penrose hiking, kayaking, and enjoying a delicious fresh strawberry milkshake. Life is good!.
