A day in the life

Hi Everyone, Well, the news of the day is that we are now back under sail, although we did have to wait until midnight on Saturday for this to happen. Lenny and Johnny hoisted the genoa to push us up to 5 to 6 knots changing to the reaching spinnaker in the morning to achieve 6 to 7. I understand from Lenny that the wind now looks set for the next three to four days. With a gentle sea the activity on board now looks like it will become even less. In fact we are grateful that we are writing this blog as we are finding that the days are beginning to merge and now that the wind looks as if it will be constant we won't even have the daily activity after breakfast of having a different sail to set. So what shall we do after the cockpit umbrellas are erected ? Well I know Lenny will be as active as ever, in fact I swear I saw him trimming the umbrellas at about 3 o,clock yesterday afternoon to get just that little bit extra out of WFTM. As for the crew the big decisions are shall we read, discuss the menus for the day or just sit and stare at the ever changing sea and sky. I mean it can take at least an hour to watch a squall go by, half an hour counting the different blues in the sky and endless time watching the sea turn from a colour of polished granite to a religious purple only to end up, for a moment, a Grecian blue. Conversation becomes languid in the heat. I was in mindless reverie yesterday afternoon when Jonathan turned to me and in a serious manner said " I think I will go and cut up an onion", and without further ado rose and disappeared down to the galley. Of course the end result of that was a delicious spaghetti bolognaise at about eight in the evening. However even that wasn't without incident as in the process of preparation Lenny exclaimed " Oh no" as if the spinnaker had shredded " I think we have run out of Passata ".. I suppose the point I am trying to make is that amongst this unique experience we are now feeling very relaxed knowing that at the end of the day we will again able to wonder at theater of the sunset the likes of which only an ocean vista can afford.
