Jonathan
Greetings to you all from Admiralty Bay in Bequia. As you will have read from Len's blog post, we have arrived at our destination of the beautiful little island of Bequia, about 90 miles beyond Barbados. It seems incredible, in the true sense of the word, to think that we have sailed almost 3,000 miles in the past month and have arrived here safely. It has been a wonderful experience and Johnny, Richard and I are enormously grateful to Len for making the passage such a pleasure and for tolerating our inexperience and incompetence with such patience and good humour. I know that we all felt entirely confident in his seamanship and his management of his boat and his motley crew. Thank you, Len, very much indeed.

We said goodbye to Richard yesterday. i believe he was just as sorry to be leaving to return to London as we were to see him go. One of us (no names) finally got his long-awaited rum punch and ice cold beer at lunchtime yesterday, and delicious they were, too. we ate at the Frangipani, of which Johnny had very fond memories from 30 odd years ago. After a pretty lazy afternoon we had supper at Maria's Cafe where we were all captivated by the utterly charming Peaches who looked after us with grace and great humour. The Creole chicken was excellent. Maybe we'll go back there for breakfast. As Len would say, "Let's see how it goes".

So, for Johnny and me the saddest part of today will be saying goodbye to WFTM and to Len, who will be continuing on to Antigua where he meets up with his wife and others before heading off through the Panama Canal into the Pacific and then Galapagos, Easter Island, the Marquesas, Tahiti and on to New Zealand by Christmas 2014. Anyone joining him for any of those legs will be very fortunate indeed. Johnny and I are tempted to be stowaways, but I suppose we'd better no.

Thank you all again for the interest you have taken in this adventure. It's been a great comfort and source of reassurance and encouragement.

Now, it's time for breakfast ..............
