Cat Marina and the Wobbly Race

My sojorn in the Cat Marina is nearly over, with the arrival of my cousin Oliver and his family and friends staying at the Villa Kathleen near the beautiful Deep Bay. I will be sailing and having fun with them over the next 3 weeks.
the shoulder is now much recovered, although I still have to be careful not to strain it - tricky on a small sailing yacht with the necessities of the wind and sea to manage.
Last Friday it was the day of the Wobbly Race. A fun event for the super yacht crews to enjoy. Each entry was given 2 sheets of plywood and 3 hours to construct a boat to carry them from the beach east of the marina to the beach to the west around the outside of the pontoons. Just to make it harder the crews were encouraged to eat grilled food from the BBQ washed down with prodigious quantities of rum punch and/or beer. Everyone dressed up in fanciful costumes.

At the start some of the craft sank within yards of the beach, while a couple of them were extraordinarily well constructed and seaworthy in the breezy conditions.

Looking forward to being at sea and active again!
