Motoring

20 May 2014 | Mid Atlantic
Karel
Bagged the spinnaker at dusk and boomed out the 130% Genoa. Dinner of Penne Pasta with sausage, zucchini and cream sauce. At midnight the last of the breeze died and so on with the engine, Motoring at 1500 rpm to conserve fuel, and making 5 knots on a gently heaving sea.

Noon today we stopped and drifted for half an hour and swam in the deep blue cool ocean which was great fun and very refreshing. Earlier a couple of pods of dolphins came by. A very small species and they didn't stay for long unfortunately. No more sargasso weed, but a scattering of Portuguese man-of-war jellyfish floating by. Another ship spotted. Laundry decorating the rails as with the engine going we have plenty of water from the desalinator.
