Well quite a lot has happened since my last post and you will have to bear with me over any discrepancies which may arise as this is written from memory over some tumultuous times.

Photo Cape Horn Lighthouse

Here is a photo of Cape Horn Lighthouse. I don't think it is very clear as there is a limit to the number of pixels that IridiumGo will handle, there was a lot of spray and it was blowing 35 knots with big swells. But at least it shows I have been there; although PhotoShop could produce a much more convincing image I'm sure. Hunkered down for what I expect to be a day or two of strong Northwesterly winds which is basically the direction I want to go. If the triple reefed main becomes uncomfortable I might even try the Jordan Series Drogue though I believe retrieving it can be a real pain. --------------010504020902000606010900--

Cape Horn cont

In the early morning the breeze backed and had me again heading directly for Diego Ramirez and caught me napping in strengthening winds which required dousing the jib as anything over 30 knots the yacht is not easily controlled. Better conditions, jib up, sailing well now the wind is increasing and [...]

Troppo Revisited

09 March 2016 | The Chilly South Atlantic
A few months ago I introduced a philosophical discussion by means of the rather whimsical route that for anyone to differ from the prevailing scientific consensus, that person must have had a touch too much of the sun, if not completely stark staring mad. But the " going troppo " was only a gambit to grab the attention of my readers and has nothing to do with the conclusions I have arrived at regarding the world we live in and the Universe as a whole. The most fundamental statement I can make and from which many others follow is this.

The whole Universe is permeated by a repulsive force acting in all directions and when any object is placed placed in this force field it will absorb some of this force.

That statement can and does stand on its own and needs no qualification, but by way of explanation we have the following.

This statement obviously refutes the Newtonian notion of gravitational attraction. It states unequivocally that there is no such thing as gravitational attraction. What is seen as gravitational attraction is in fact the shielding and absorption of some of this force between two objects such that they are forced together.

By extension it also refutes the Einsteinian notion of relativity of which it is held this was an attempt to correct some of the errors thrown up in the strict application of the Newtonian Laws by application of certain fudge factors to the complicated and unrelated mathematical analysis of three dimensional curved surfaces. Another important conclusion I have come to is that I need to take out a reef in the main and change tack as that elusive diminishing number has been established. 18 knots. So in the meantime this tome is consigned to cyberspace.
