DAY 3 The following morning it was off to the bay for swimming with the whale sharks- our fears of their possible migratory departure were unfounded. We immediately spotted one and jumped into the cold water to pursue it. Our normally sedentary friend willingly jumped in, but soon had snorkel problems and returned to the boat after swallowing (or inhaling?) an inordinately large dose of salt water. The rest of us made several more jumps to follow additional whale sharks, eventually spotting 4-5 more whale sharks of varying sizes, while our friend stayed on the boat, looking rather pale and greenish-blue in color. Lack of experience with the new Go-pro camera unfortunately resulted in only a few good images, but the experience was unforgettable.
