Friends from home

22 February 2013 | Treasure Cay
We are anchored in Treasure Cay and David goes in to check us in with the marina. You are anchored but for $10 you get to use all the marina facilities, plus you can go to the beach. It is a beautiful white powdery sand and it is kept very clean and neat. There are beach chairs there you can use plus the Coco Beach Bar. We do a walk around and then back on the boat for a quiet warm evening. There are a couple of turtles here. The area is very secure with walls all around us and about 8 feet of water.
On Wednesday we go into town after the rain stops to get some laundry done. We just get it started when the power goes off. A generator starts up and the wash finishes but the power is low so the dryers take a long time. We ended up taking it back to the boat and hanging it out to finish drying. We then went back ashore and rented a golf cart for a half day. $25 . Christa did some driving and said it is strange to drive on the other side of the road. When we finished we had an early supper at Coco Beach Bar and sat out over the beach. Again I must say it is a beautiful beach, and no-one was nude.
The next morning just after breakfast we heard someone outside the boat saying MYC and we looked out to see Emery Mc Graw and Mike Lee from our boat club at home plus a friend. We knew Emery might be here. They were heading out to do some fishing. We will try to stop in again for a visit before we head back home.
We paid for our two nights and headed out of the harbor towards Great Guana Cay. At the end of the channel we passed a ray and then a turtle. Turtles can swim fast.
