Back in the US
26 March 2013 | North Lake Worth
Just letting you know that we are in the US, arrived late Saturday (a long trip across) customs Monday.
The last I left you we were in Marsh Harbor. We had been down to Little Harbor and back. We went out for dinner with Graeme and Laura, Sweet Chariot, Bill and Terry Second Option, Ken and Barb, Plumpuppett, and Joe from Gemini at Mango's. It was pizza night $5 for a 12 in pizza and drinks were 2 for 1. We had a great evening out on the deck. We missed friends back in the US who couldn't be here.
On Friday were went ashore after the net rowing in. We took the motor off because we would be away all day. Second Option came along with Graeme and Laura and towed us in. We walked over to the ferry dock and waited till we could board. The boat was full and another one came to take the rest across. It was windy outside the harbor and waves broke over the front of the boat but we were warm and dry inside. At Guana we walked up to Nippers and found a table. Ken and Barb came later. They had brought their boat over and had a mooring in Fishers Bay. We had lunch and a couple of drinks before The Barefoot Man started. I got my hat signed before the concert. Most of the people were around our age. It was a great time, the music, watching the people and the great scenery. We would certainly do this again. David and I left around 3 and walked over to Grabbers got a table and had drink while we looked out at all the boats in Fishers Bay. We then headed back and caught the 4:45 ferry back. We chatted with a group of 10 from Nebraska who were staying at Little Harbor. One of them was the guy a song was dedicated to who had just retired for a nuclear plant. (Take this job and shove it) They were very funny and kept us and the crew laughing all the way across. Back in Marsh we check with Seagull and we are still planning to head out tomorrow through Whale Channel and up towards Green Turtle. The last ferry came in and the rest of our group came off and made it safely back from Guana.
Saturday after the net we left Marsh and headed towards Whale Cay. It was a bit rolly and lots of boats were coming through. Some leaving and some entering. We anchored at Manjack, but Seagull had a hard time anchoring so headed up to the other Crab Cay across from Spanish Cay. We stayed here and did some exploring in the dingy. You can cross through from one side to the other through a creek. It was half tide going down so we just went a short way in and drifted. Lots of turtles. Back to the boat for a quiet evening sitting out.
