Wind warnings

06 February 2015 | New Smyrna Beach Marina
On Wednesday we are up and through Bridge of Lions at 7, then we had the current with us most of the trip. We were mostly travelling over 6 knots, only about and hour we were below 5 1/2. It was a great trip, by 2:30 we were in Daytona, one time it was 5:30 when we arrived here. It was still early so we continued travelling another 10 miles to Rockhouse Creek and anchored with one other boat. We motor-sailed from Daytona. A quiet night but wind and rain in the morning. We called New Smyrna Marina and we could get in, one boat was leaving so we were lucky, because they were full. By 8 we are going through the lift bridge and then into the marina. We were only 4 miles away so a short trip. There is a lake wind advisory, high winds and small craft warning in open areas. The morning is wet and wild (glad to be in this marina, well protected) then clear in the afternoon. Wind advisory till 7 pm. This is the same place we stayed last year when we broke down. We got out for a walk, long pants , sweaters, and coats. Cool. Friday we wake to winds still up and another advisory of winds till 7pm tonight so we decide to stay another day. It does sound better for Sat and Sun so we may get to Vero Beach by Monday at the latest then it sounds like windy again. Saw a couple of pictures of snow home, so sorry, by what we hear it is over our heads. Plus city in state of emergency. I may find it cool but I'm not shovelling. Take care
